Google Moves Tabs to Side Bar in UI Test

A screen capture taken over at Glenn.Ca of Google pushing the tabs (Web Images Groups News Froogle Local) to the side bar menu. In my opinion, it takes up too much screen real estate.

    I can predict what will happen. Google’s UI has always been regarded as clutter-free. UI gurus have praised it for being so clean. As time passes, they add more and more features. So they are adding more and more links everywhere.

    I hope this one will never leave the test area. I do not like it at all and it would be annoying to always have that side bar when searching … but for Google it would raise the use of the other search functions for sure (images, etc.).
